Identifying items on the map

If you want to know about a neighborhood facility item on the map, you can get more information about it.

To identify an item

  1. In the Toolbar, click the Identify button.
  2. Click on the item you want to identify. An identify icon will be placed on the map at the location clicked . After a few moments, information for the location selected should appear in the Results section of the Menu. The Results may return multiple types or layers of information associated with the location, including Neighborhood Facilities (e.g., banks, grocery stores), the neighborhood in Orleans Parish, the background cartography or street map, and the ZIP code.
  3. Expand the location by clicking on the plus image to the left of the Neighborhood Facilities (x, y coordinates). This displays names of layers where items were found.
  4. Expand a layer to display items found in that layer by clicking on the plus image next to the layer. Then expand item details as desired.
